Our specialized minor course work sharpens your skills and equips you with the advanced expertise that employers seek.
With the help of an academic advisor, you will select the minor that enhances your online bachelor’s degree program. Each minor consists of 18 to 24 credit hours, depending on the course work required. The following TXST undergraduate programs require a minor: communication studies (all concentrations), geography and environmental studies, integrated studies, mass communications, psychology, public administration, public health, and health information management.
Minor in Communication Studies
Gain high-level communication skills through course work that emphasizes listening, speaking, teamwork, and intercultural awareness. Navigate complex communication challenges with confidence when you deepen your understanding of topics such as interpersonal interaction, leadership in group settings, and the principles of contemporary public speaking.
Minor in Health Communication
Blend theory, research, and application with this interdisciplinary minor featuring courses from several Texas State schools, including the Department of Communication Studies, the School of Health Administration, the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, and the Department of Psychology.
Minor in Health Informatics

Minor in Health Information Management

Note: This minor is required for the B.S. in Health Information Management.

Minor in Psychology
For this minor in psychology, you will learn about the principles of psychology in an introductory course covering learning, thinking, motivation, emotion, personality, the senses, perception, and the form and functions of the nervous system. After the first course, you will choose 15 hours of any related advanced psychology course.
Minor in Public Administration
