Accreditation

  • Texas State University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral degrees. Texas State may also offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels.   • The Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication program at Texas State University is accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (ACEJMC). Texas State University is one of only three public universities accredited by ACEJMC in the state of Texas. http://www.acejmc.org/

  • The health information management accreditor of Texas State University is the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). The university’s accreditation for the Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management (BSHIM) degree has been reaffirmed through April 2027. Accreditation for the Master of Health Information Management (MHIM) degree has been affirmed through October 2028.
