Accreditation

  • Texas State University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral degrees. Texas State may also offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels.   • The McCoy College of Business at Texas State University is an accredited member of AACSB International. For more than a century, AACSB accreditation has been synonymous with the highest standards in business education. McCoy College's Department of Accounting also holds an additional AACSB accreditation. Fewer than 200 universities worldwide earn AACSB accreditations in both business and accounting.

  • The baccalaureate degree program in nursing and the master's degree programs in nursing at Texas State University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, 655 K Street, NW, Suite 750, Washington, DC 20001, 202-887-6791.

  • The Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication program at Texas State University is accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (ACEJMC).   • The health information management accreditor of Texas State University is the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). The university’s accreditation for the Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management (BSHIM) degree has been reaffirmed through April 2027. Accreditation for the Master of Health Information Management (MHIM) degree has been affirmed through October 2028.
