To be eligible to earn your M.Ed. in Educational Technology online from Texas State University, you must have the following:
- Completed online application
- Nonrefundable application fee of $55 ($90 for international*)
- Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited university
- Copy of official transcripts from all institutions where course credit was granted
- Minimum 2.75 GPA overall or 2.75 GPA in your last 60 hours of undergraduate course work (plus any completed graduate courses)
- A statement of purpose that addresses your reasons for choosing the program, your area of study, your relevant experiences, your career goals, and the attributes that will make you successful in the program
- Approved English proficiency exam score:
- Applicants are required to submit an approved English proficiency exam score that meets the minimum program requirements below unless they have earned a bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or the equivalent from a country on our exempt countries list.
- Official TOEFL iBT scores required with a 78 overall
- Official PTE scores required with a 52 overall
- Official IELTS (academic) scores required with a 6.5 overall and minimum individual module scores of 6.0
- Official Duolingo Scores required with a 110 overall
- Official TOEFL Essentials scores required with an 8.5 overall
- Applicants are required to submit an approved English proficiency exam score that meets the minimum program requirements below unless they have earned a bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or the equivalent from a country on our exempt countries list.
You have the opportunity to upload copies of your official transcripts during the application process (not print-outs, grade reports, advising transcripts or transcripts stamped "unofficial"). You can accomplish this by ordering or requesting your official transcripts from your university registrar, opening the documents, and scanning them into one PDF file. Please follow the instructions below when uploading your documents:
- Redact your social security number every time it appears, but do not make additional alterations
- Include front pages and back pages as well as the transcript legend
- Combine multiple pages and/or multiple transcripts into one PDF
- Arrange all pages in the correct order
- Remove any encryption/password protections

To graduate from the M.Ed. in Educational Tech online degree program, you must complete a total of 30 credit hours, including 24 credit hours of core courses and six credit hours of electives.
Take two courses outside of the Education Technology program. Pick courses that will help you design instruction once you’re done with the program. They can be C&I; Professional Development; Adult Education; Educational Leadership; or Organization, Workforce, and Leadership Studies (OWLS); i.e., Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses.
