To be eligible to earn your MBA with a Specialization in Strategic Human Resources online from Texas State University, you must have the following:

  • Two years or more of professional business experience
  • Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited university
  • Completed online application
  • Nonrefundable application fee of $55 ($90 for international*)
  • Official transcripts from each institution where course credit was granted
  • Resume/CV outlining education, professional and technical achievements, scholarships/grants, publications/presentations, other accomplishments
  • Statement of purpose outlining the applicant’s interest in the program and a description of the applicant’s three most significant accomplishments
  • Two letters of recommendation from sources able to assess the student’s ability to succeed in graduate school
    • GPA and GMAT/GRE Requirement:
    • GMAT/GRE not required for applicants with a GPA of 3.5 or higher
    • For applicants with GPA below 3.5, official GMAT or GRE (general test only) with competitive scores will be required for consideration
  • Approved English proficiency exam score:
    • Applicants are required to submit an approved English proficiency exam score that meets the minimum program requirements below unless they have earned a bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or the equivalent from a country on our exempt countries list.
    • Official TOEFL iBT scores required with a 78 overall and minimum individual module scores of
      • 19 listening

    • Official PTE scores required with a 52 overall
    • Official IELTS (academic) scores required with a 6.5 overall and minimum individual module scores of 6.0
    • Official Duolingo scores required with a 110 overall

  • You have the opportunity to upload copies of your official transcripts during the application process (not print-outs, grade reports, advising transcripts or transcripts stamped "unofficial"). You can accomplish this by ordering or requesting your official transcripts from your university registrar, opening the documents, and scanning them into one PDF file. Please follow the instructions below when uploading your documents:
